According to data from the National Big Data Alliance for New Energy Vehicles, by the end of the first quarter of 2024, China's new energy vehicle ownership will reach 22.5 million, with Shanghai leading the world with 1.288 million. In the first quarter of this year, new energy passenger cars accounted for 44.49% of registrations in Shanghai, highlighting the rapid growth of new energy vehicles in the city. Data from the Shanghai municipal platform shows that since 2016, 207,900 public and private charging stations have been connected, of which 137,600 are in operation. While there is enormous potential for the development of public fast-charging infrastructure, the associated challenges should not be ignored.

Adhering to the philosophy of sustainable development, ABB e-Mobility has established a new concept charging station, "Powered by ABB," to provide users with a stable, safe, and environmentally friendly charging experience. On May 24, 2024, the "Powered by ABB" Beizhai Road Supercharging Station officially opened, demonstrating ABB e-Mobility's commitment to providing users with a brand-new charging experience.

Powered by ABB, the Beizhai Road Supercharging Station is located near the Hongqiao Hub and the National Exhibition and Convention Center. Its strategic location and convenient transportation meet users' needs for convenient travel. ABB e-Mobility has equipped the demonstration station with 122 charging terminals, including 120kW fast-charging terminals and 480kW liquid-cooled supercharging terminals, to accommodate the needs of different vehicle models and users, truly achieving a one-second-per-kilometer charging experience. The station is also equipped with a large-scale dual-bay battery swap station from Jieneng Intelligent Electric. The entire charging and swap station can serve over 20,000 new energy vehicles per month, significantly promoting the convenience of new energy vehicle use in the surrounding area.

ABB's e-mobility ultra-fast charging equipment is highly adaptable and compatible with up to 99% of electric vehicles on the market. It achieves a 99% first-time plug-in success rate, significantly reducing user operational difficulty and waiting time while also improving depot asset operational efficiency. Furthermore, regarding safety, our charging equipment adheres to a rigorous, high-standard certification assurance system. Through ABB electrical equipment protection and over 30 multi-dimensional sensing networks, it provides users with a dual-protection charging process.

To enhance the user experience, ABB e-Mobility has introduced a lightweight charging cable. While ensuring high current transmission, it is 50% lighter than traditional charging cables, thereby increasing charging convenience and comfort. As ancillary services, an intelligent barrier system has been specially designed to ensure efficient use of charging spaces, preventing the occupation of spaces by fuel-powered vehicles. The charging station is also equipped with a large monitoring screen that displays the charging status of all vehicles in real time and can notify owners via voice notification when their vehicle is fully charged, significantly enhancing the user experience.

The Beizhai Road Supercharging Station, powered by ABB, also features a lounge for drivers, offering food, drinks, and electronic device charging facilities. To ensure the safety of drivers in the event of a medical emergency, the lounge is also equipped with a first aid kit.
